Liz Grossman and Tayib Fall met at the Google Gdays Conference in Dakar, Senegal on December 15, 2013, instantly bonding over the use of the internet to improve educational and professional outcomes for young professionals in Africa. Two years later, on December 15 to be exact, they met again at a digital education forum in Dakar and realized that their combined expertise has the potential to make immense impact in bridging the gap between the US and Africa. Within a few months’ time, Baobab Consulting was born.

The Baobab, a tree from West Africa, is a symbol of strength and power, able to provide fruit for people even in the driest of deserts. The Baobab is the place in West African tradition where the community gathers to discuss and make decisions about their future. With roots in the United States and Senegal, Baobab Consulting believes that people on both sides of the ocean should be able to hear each other’s voices, regardless of language or cultural differences, and work together to build successful futures for their respective communities and the world as a whole. Our branches have grown as the world has evolved. With partnerships in Africa extending far beyond the United States to countries across Europe, the Middle East and Asia, Baobab Consulting has expanded our scope from “U.S.-Africa” to “Africa to the world”.
