What your purpose will be

As a Communications Intern you will play a key role in the PR and Communications team, supporting it in the strategy and execution of Baobab’s communications accounts. You will work with experienced professionals to complete a defined project, critical to Baobab’s organizational goals. Specifically for this role, you will report to the PR and Content Coordinator, overseen by the Director of Accounts and Communications, to contribute to the objectives of Baobab Consulting. You will participate in intensive cross-collaboration with: 

  • Baobab Growth Team to develop relevant content and products for Baobab-owned platforms.
  • Baobab Partnerships Team to identify potential partnerships necessary to achieve project success.
Your Responsibilities

Positioning for Baobab’s PR and Communications Branch

  • Identify potential PR opportunities for Baobab as a brand and Baobab’s team members
  • Lead the media monitoring of keywords relevant to baobab and clients’ across industries
  • Research and develop journalists database across Africa and the diaspora
  • Support the development of reports for clients, creating eye-catching slides
  • Support in developing press releases, factsheets, impact stories and articles
  • Develop a PR-related product as a key deliverable for the internship

  • Work closely with the Director of Accounts and Communications, PR and Communications Coordinator, Baobab Growth team, and other team members of the team working on communications accounts.

What your purpose would be

As an Operations Intern, you will play a key role in the Operations team, supporting it in enhancing Baobab’s systems, processes, and employee’s well-being. You will work with experienced professionals to complete those projects, critical to Baobab’s organizational goals. In this role, you will report to the Chief of Staff and, depending on your qualifications and interests, contribute to Human Resources or process optimization. You will participate in intensive cross-collaboration with: 

  • The Chief of Staff (i.e. report to and check if your work aligns with Baobab’s overall vision and support in daily activities).
  • Operations Manager (i.e. Contributing to their work in the department and learning Baobab’s ops processes). 
  • Potentially other team leads for cross-team collaboration

  • Data entry in Baobab’s HR database
  • Revise and optimize internal tools and processes by researching process optimization, comparing tools, and making suggestions for Baobab

What your purpose would be

The Branding and Social Media Intern is responsible for supporting the Growth Team in spearheading the strategy and execution of Baobab’s brand advancement and marketing objectives. The Intern will be instrumental in creating promotional content that will be shared internally with the team and externally across our social media platforms.

This role requires an intensive level of cross-collaboration with the: 

  • Business Development team (i.e. Understanding the business needs of Baobab consulting and positioning the company as a leader in the consulting space).
  • Operations team (i.e. Partnering with the operations team to execute projects). 
  • Growth team (i.e. As a member of this team, your role is critical to the successful function of the team).
  • Partnerships Team (i.e With a strong focus on cultivating meaningful and impactful relationships, the growth team works closely with the partnerships team to develop content and communication strategies).

The  Intern will report directly to the Branding and Growth Initiatives Manager.

Your Responsibilities

Partnership Accountability and Results

  • Collaborate with other members of the growth team to come up with ideas for social media posts.
  • Create and post engaging graphics and content on Baobab’s social media accounts.
  • Manage the social media calendar.
  • Attend monthly growth team planning meetings.
  • Present ideas and give feedback on team projects.
  • Assist in creating content for Baobab’s monthly newsletters, “The Firmly Rooted Digest” and the “Africa Social Impact Lens.”
  • Maintain creative assets on Canva.
  • Edit video content where needed.

People Management

  • Schedule weekly check-in meetings with the supervisor.

What your purpose would be

As a Partnerships Intern, you will play a key role in the Partnerships team, supporting it in the strategy and execution of Baobab’s Partnerships Development Strategy. You will work with experienced professionals to complete a defined project critical to Baobab’s organizational goals. You will report to the Partnerships Coordinator to contribute to  maintaining systems to maximize our partner outreach efforts, and you will participate in intensive cross-collaboration with:

  • CBO-headed team (i.e. liaise regularly to integrate lead tracking systems and align partnership strategy with quarterly business goals).
  • CoS-headed team (i.e.liaise regularly to stay up to date on Baobab’s operational needs).
  • CGO-headed team (i.e. coordinate partner tracking and scoping through digital engagement and research).
Your Responsibilities

CRM Implementation & Management 

  • Assist in the selection and implementation of a robust CRM tool like Salesforce.
  • Participate in training sessions to demonstrate the tool’s benefits in data organization, client management, and workflow automation.
  • Support migrating client data into the CRM system, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with team members to customize CRM features.

Lead Generation Enhancement 

  • Contribute to the development and execution of targeted content strategies such as webinars, blogs, case studies, and social media campaigns.
  • Assist in analyzing lead generation metrics and trends to identify successful channels and optimize marketing efforts.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling content that resonates with target audiences and drives engagement.

Client Relationship Management
